About Khenrinpoche Pema Choephel:
Khenrinpoche Pema Choephel was born in 1980 in Tsawa Pashoe, Khampa region of Tibet. His parents are Namgyal Norbu and Sonam Dolma. In 1995, He became monk at local monastery named Dho-ngag Rigpe Gatsal. From the abbot of Tsawa Gangya monastery and he took novice ordination, studied Tibetan Language from Gen Phagpa Tsering; preliminary studies and monastic rituals from Venerable Lama Sonam Gyaltsen.
He fled from Tibet in 1998 and reached Dharamsala. He had the fortunate time of meeting His Holiness the Dalai Lama. On His Holiness advice, he went to Namdroling monastery in South India and studied there for almost one year. After having auspicious time to meet His Eminence venerable Rigo Tulku Rinpoche, he moved to Palyul Chokhorling monastery in Bir in 1999. After seeking teachings and blessings from various teachers and undertaking arduous study in traditional nyingmapa studies for almost a decade at this institute, he graduated in 2009 with Lopon degree.
After graduation, he served as General Secretary and as lecturer for couple of years. In 2011, during the inauguration of Sangdok Palri (Bronze colored Guru Rinpoche’s temple), he received Khenpo honorary in front of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and His Eminence Rigo Tulku Rinpoche.
Khenpola had attended various teachings and initiations of His Holiness the Dalai Lama as well as received Kalachakra empowerment for couple of times, Long-life empowerments, initiation of Medicine Buddha; teachings of Boddhisatva’s way of life for two times, Sem-nyi Ngel-so (Rest for nature of mind) and One-hundred thousand songs of Milarepa.
Khenpola had also received the precious teachings of Nying-thik-Tsa-sum (Three roots of Dzogchen teachings) from His Eminence most venerable Taklung Tsetrul Rinpoche, present head of Nyingmapa lineage.
Since his graduation, Khenpola has strived to help enthusiastic dharma seeking people of various parts of the world.
